Fides Et Ratio (The Relationship Between Faith and Reason), Pope John Paul II, Item 6
Pope John Paul II
Fides Et Ratio (The Relationship Between Faith and Reason)
I have prepared this booklet to show the secular person that a simple approach to the visible is not sufficient to live a life of fulfilment and joy and love. A Spiritual person contemplates the fullness of God and the universe, seen and unseen, and a person must choose a one-on-one relationship with God to effectively see the God in their fellow human being. The non-religious are overwhelmed by the rules and postulations of the religious but this fear and ignorance is a state of spiritual sloth by which the non-believer “goes with the flow” of the crowd and feels resentment toward faithful people who are blessed with love and abundance. Pope John Paul II embraces reason through detailed investigation into all truth available to him, rather than the assumption of personal goodness.
